Barnes Landing

Residential Garden Installation

LOCATION: Springs, NY
PROPERTY SIZE: .5 Acres

At this Barnes Landing property in Springs, NY, we helped actualize a life long dream of transforming an untouched backyard into an outdoor sanctuary with an emphasis on native plantings and pollinators.  This comprehensive plan aimed to create cohesion and flow, with a “loose and a bit wild” type of approach, while also keeping it functional for an avid swimmer.

The new lap pool is a feature piece of the property. We designed the pool’s hardscaping using finely crushed stone dust — this very natural material has a neutral tonal quality and compresses nicely for a solid footing. We planted silvers, greens and whites loosely into the stone dust to give it a casual and natural feel. Large boulders that were recycled from other areas of the property were set into the planting space to give the feeling of stepping stones leading to a natural water source.
